Year 11's transitions - classes students

Dear Parent/Carer,

We are having to wait for confirmation from colleges regarding how we can facilitate visits, considering numbers and covid restrictions. Whilst we are unable to plan with certainty, we would like to share with you our proposed transition plans for Yr11 pupils in term 6.

Students will be given a transition pack which can be completed throughout Term 6. The pack will help students to locate useful information such as college contacts, college travel and routines to help students successfully adjust to the college environment.

We will aim to do at least 2 college visits with inclusion workers and offer 2 afternoons of social skills/ college preparation (how to meet new people). We would like to offer a series of google meets online with other students attending the same college site. There will also be phone calls each week to monitor students' progress, liaising with the college about any individual issues.

As soon as we have confirmation from the colleges about how we can run the visits, we can plan the additional work, sending out a timetable of suggested activities.
