Across the service the curriculum on offer to students is broad and balanced, aimed at ensuring students ill health has as small an effect on student outcomes as possible and that students return to mainstream schools as quickly as their health situation allows.

Students fit into two broad categories, those where health professionals can give a clear date for their return to school and those where there is no clear date for a return to school. The curriculum that we offer to all students assumes that a return to mainstream provision is the route that all students are following.

For students with EHCPs, education will only be provided once the students on roll school has agreed with the provision planed by BHES and confirmed that the provision best meets the students needs at the present time.
