BHES update – closure information & remote learning

Dear all. The latest government statement has said that schools should remain open to children of key workers and vulnerable children. Our Falkland Rd base will be remaining open to staff and also to any students who normally attend classes. The plan is for BHES provision is as follows.   1:1 Teachers will continue to provide sessions as they do now. BHES staff will contact you to tell you how they will be teaching your child. In most cases this will be remotely rather than face to face as remote teaching can continue if your family or the BHES staff member has to isolate. If you have not done so already, if you can provide staff with an e mail address to contact you that will be useful.   Falkland Road.  From Monday 23rd March we will be teaching all classes students remotely. As I said above, the base will be open for students to attend if they wish to do so. Students are not required to attend Falkland Road. Those that do so will access their learning at Falkland Road. Students will be contacted on a daily basis by a member of the inclusion team to provide mentoring support. We will continue to teach yr11 and yr12 students,  either remotely or on site, until their planned leaving date in June. Yr11 and 12 students should continue to take part in lessons and complete learning tasks.   Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and The Riverside BHES staff will continue to work in these 2 hospitals unless hospital managers or the Government instruct us otherwise. Please note that these plans are subject to change if Government advice changes. BHES staff will keep you informed and plans will be published on our website. Jim Bowyer   19th March 2020.
